CHORD PROGRESSIONS - by Bradley Laird
Train 45 This is very popular with the banjo picking species and they nearly always pick it in the key of B. If they can find their capo they layed down somewhere. That this is always played in B is a good excuse to learn to play your mandolin or fiddle in B. *As I said, B is THE key for this tune. However, the banjo and guitar crowd play it "as if" they were in the key of G with their capos at the 4th fret. Fiddle, bass and mandolin players tough it out and play it "in open B". That's just the way it is. Did I mention that banjo pickers like to BURN this one? Luckily this chord progression is a snap to learn but, hang on to your hat, this one is usually played fast.
